Youngcare’s annual Tax Appeal campaign is their most successful of each year. The 2017 campaign achieved the strongest results to date so Youngcare’s 2018 campaign had a huge target to bet of $180,000 in donations raised. Media Merchants teamed up with Youngcare to tell the story of John through a direct mail DL Flyer. John’s a young man whose life changed in an instant when he suffered a stroke. Now having high care needs, John battled through hospital stays and the prospect of living in aged care for the rest of his life. That was before John moved into the Youngcare Albany Creek Apartments and is experiencing more choice and independence.
Youngcare wanted to clearly express John’s story visually and with minimal copy, instil emotion but also hope. Youngcare wanted the DL Flyer to be able to stand alone from the accompanying letter and work to encourage donations for this campaign. As of the July Youngcare’s 2018 Tax Appeal campaign has exceeded their initial target of $180,000 and is currently sitting at $256,000 in donations raised through both direct mail and online.
